DIANA HARTAN
"Per aspera ad astra"
Diana Maria Hartan was born on 25 May 1989 in Romania. She began artistic gymnastics at the age of three at her local Clubul Copilor. When she turned six, her mother took her to the selection trials for the Nadia Comăneci Academy—the most prestigious gymnastics school in Romania—where she was accepted and remained for the duration of her competitive career.
In 2000, Diana won her first national medal in floor exercise, and went on to claim three bronze medals at the national championships. The rigour of her daily training and the thousands of hours spent honing her craft at the Academy culminated in her winning the Romanian national all-around title in 2002, as well as medals at various international events.
A severe injury in 2006 forced her to retire from competition, and she subsequently moved to Italy, where part of her family already lived. Drawing on the exceptional training she had received, Diana retrained as a personal trainer. Alongside her one-to-one coaching, she joined the commercial team at Titan Fitness—lead distributor of X-Fit equipment—travelling to the world’s major fitness expos to sell and demonstrate their machines.
This year she was appointed ambassador and product tester for Vibram FiveFingers. She is also a member of the Inferno Team OCR (Obstacle Course Racing), competing on both national and international circuits, with her sights set on the World Championships in Canada in October 2017. All of these experiences have inspired her to develop a training philosophy that seeks true harmony between beauty and strength.
